Studies on Cytoarchitectonics on Summit of Rostral Half of Cingulate Gyral Cortex(Brodmann¡¯s Area 24) in Human Brain
Lee hai-Koo

Abstract
Cytoarchitectonic studies on summit of rostral half of the cingulate gyral cortex(Brodmann¡¯s area 24) has been investigated in 149 normal human brains taken from newborn till 85-years old of both the sexes of Korean.

The cortical thickness and the cellularitise in the cortical summit were determined, and were compared with those values from wall of the identical cortex.

The adult value of cortical thichness in 2582¡2650 micra of the summit was shown 1.20¡1.24 times thicker than that of 2093¡2170 micra at wall in identical cortex.

The cellularities in both the neuronal and glial cells of the adult, 275¡299 cells cortex of the summit was shown 93.2¡97.7% of 285¡310 cells at that of wall, and that of 466¡508 cells of the glia in the summit was shown 93.7¡95.5% of 497¡540 cells at wall of the identical cortex.

Among all the adult values of the summit were shown statistically significant difference in comparisons with values of the wall. except that for the thcikness in which shown significant difference. These facts were seemingly implicated that there were some of latent different morphofunctional potentialities between both the sites on the cortex orginated presumably from the developmental atmosphere during the prenatal life.

None of significant sexual difference has been noted throughout present observation.

It is suggested that coincidental fibrilloarchitectural studies appears to be profitable as far as the cytoarchitectural investigation of brain cortex is concern.

Some of a brief histological methodology on the cytoarchitectonics was discussed.
